Course Description:

Do you like to watch TV and shop? Learn how marketers persuade and advertise through the principles of marketing. In addition, learn about the marketing mix, research process, and social responsibilities of marketing through activities, projects (individual and group), quizzes, and group discussions. This course is a must for anyone planning on being a business major in college.

Course Standards:

  1. Recognize the customer-oriented nature of marketing and analyze the impact of marketing activities on the individual, business and society.
  2. Analyze the characteristics, motivations and behaviors of consumers.
  3. Identify and describe the four elements of the marketing mix.

Sports and Entertainment Marketing

Course Description:

Do you enjoy sports? Do you enjoy traveling? Do you enjoy finding out the latest trends from Hollywood? If so, this class is designed for you. This course will introduce you to the basic principles of economics, marketing and merchandising through two growing and unique areas: sports and entertainment. Learn how markets use sports agents, sponsorships and public relations tools to capture the American audience.
