instrumentsAs a designated "Best Communities in Music Education" school district, we are proud of our music programs. In order to give more students an opportunity to participate in music, we provide some of them with instruments. This past year, more than 32% of the students in elementary band and orchestra used school-owned instruments.

In order to provide access to musical instruments, we rely on instrument donations. If you have an instrument you are no longer using, please consider donating it to the district for student use. Instruments are accepted in “as is” condition and can be dropped off at any district elementary or secondary school or at the ESC.

MGJH GymConstructionConstruction of three new gyms at Maple Grove Junior High is well under way, with the goal of opening in January 2015.

The gyms are one of many school/community partnerships that meet multiple interests and provide value to all partners. The project, developed by the City of Maple Grove and the Osseo Maple Grove Basketball Association (OMGBA), was approved by the School Board in November 2013.

The gyms are financed entirely by the City of Maple Grove (80%) and OMGBA (20%). The school district is allowing use of the land but contributes no money ($0) toward the addition and related construction work. Once built, the school district will own and operate the gym space, based on a 40-year operating agreement with the City of Maple Grove and OMGBA.
