wald media awardThe Information and Technology Educators of Minnesota (ITEM) named Media Processing Technician Joanne Wald the 2015 Media Assistant of the Year. Former District 279 employee Ann Carstens nominated Wald, recognizing her efforts during the past two summers to assist in processing approximately 15,000 iPads for the district’s 1:1 initiative. Wald was also recognized for her work in supporting the district’s media centers; overseeing and administering the Follett Destiny library management system; and fostering positive relationships with Library Media Specialists and other staff members with her positive and caring attitude.

Several of our district media staff contribute to ITEM as part of its leadership team and as conference planners or presenters. Digital Learning and Instructional Media Coordinator Andi Bodeau serves as the current co-president and Instructional Coach Dawn French serves as the co-president-elect.
