The Minnesota Association for Career and Technical Administrators named Julie Halverson, Osseo Area Schools coordinator of career and technical education, the 2015 Outstanding CTE Administrator of the Year. Halverson’s nomination highlighted her commitment to, advocacy for, and involvement in career and technical education at the local, state and national level. Within the district, she has led efforts to create and grow programs such as the health science magnet and automotive program at Osseo Senior High, the Project Lead the Way engineering program at all secondary schools, and the districtwide Community-Based Vocational Assessment and Training program.
Halverson has also been a leader in developing our advisory curriculum, which was launched in the district’s secondary schools long before it became a state requirement under the World’s Best Workforce legislation.
This is the highest state-level recognition for CTE administrators. Halverson previously received this award in 2002, making this the second time she has been recognized with this honor.
