More than 18,000 Minnesota teens gathered at the Xcel Energy Center on Nov. 3 to participate in We Day Minnesota, a celebrity-packed event designed to inspire and motivate young people to contribute to community locally and globally.
Participants earn a trip to We Day by participating in at least one local and one global service project throughout the year. Students from Basswood, North View Middle, Osseo Middle, Osseo Senior, Park Center Senior and fifth grade representatives participating in Students Connecting Through International Service earned a trip to participate in We Day this year.
The day was filled with speakers who spoke encouraging those in attendance to make a difference through their time and talents.
Minnesota was one of two states that were part of the U.S. launch of The We Day movement in 2013. Students from our schools have been participating since the beginning. We Day aligns with our mission to inspire and prepare all students to contribute to their communities.
