The components in most of our ECFE classes:
GROWING TOGETHER: Time for you and your child
The first half hour of each class is devoted to activities planned by a licensed early childhood educator for you and your child(ren) to explore together. Together you can enjoy learning through art, music, stories, and a variety of developmental activities. It is also an opportunity to learn new ideas, games, and activities that you can do at home.

GROWING CREATIVELY AND COGNITIVELY: Time for stories and songs for you and your child
Each ECFE class has at least one group time. The teacher leads parents and children in song, movement, stories, flannel boards, and so much more. During group time, children are learning important skills such as how to self-regulate and pay attention for longer periods of time. Teachers are intentional about pacing and choosing engaging activities to keep children attending and actively participating.

GROWING INDEPENDENTLY: Time for your child
The remaining portion of each class is for children to have fun learning through play using art, science, movement, fingerplays, games, and stories with the early childhood educator, the paraprofessional and the other children. New friendships are formed and children discover new aspects of me while they are apart from you. The goal of the children's program is to develop a healthy self-concept and a joy of learning.

GROWING CONFIDENTLY: Time for you
While children take part in the children's program, parents join with other parents in an informal group setting for discussion time led by a licensed parent educator. The challenges of being a parent are enjoyable, complex, and at times stressful. Parents have the opportunity to choose and discuss current family topics, share ideas and concerns, and feel encouraged by the support of others. Parents and children in baby and selected other classes do not separate. Each toddler class will decide when they are ready for separation.

Home Visiting Program
Osseo Areas Schools Home Visiting Program is designed to help children and families prepare for successful experiences in school through a variety of learning experiences. This is a cost-free service provided to our district residents. The objectives of the program are to develop, with the parent, an Individualized Family Plan based on the children and family's strengths and needs. Visits are provided by a licensed parent or family educator from the school district's Early Childhood & Family Education Program. Our Home Visiting Program features visits to your home (or one to one visits at an EC&FE center). Visits provide ideas for creative, fun, age appropriate activities, as well as time to discuss questions on kids and family. Information and ideas on child development, parenting and community resources are also available. For more information or to receive a visit call 763.585.7331.
